Black Prince Narrowboats
At Black Prince, we’re dedicated to providing you with the best canal cruising experience in the UK. Our narrowboats boats are custom-designed and hand-built with care, offering the perfect balance of comfort and practicality. Each boat features separate bedroom areas, with one, two, three and four-bedroom options available, one or two WC and shower rooms, plus a fully equipped kitchen and dining area for simple self-catering. There’s modern LED lighting throughout the boat, together with flat screen TVs, radios and USB ports. Our Colecraft hulls are renowned for their quality and ease of handling, with the single thrust and reverse lever making manoeuvring smooth and simple, even if it’s your first time on the water.
We take pride in our fleet, ensuring each boat is meticulously maintained by our experienced teams to give you peace of mind as you explore the waterways. Classic Collection
Our hand-built and bespoke Classic boats have been carefully designed for an excellent cruising experience. Fully equipped with everything you need, you can choose from 2 to 10-berth options, each furnished with quality fixtures including fully equipped kitchenette with cooker, stove and fridge, separate bedrooms, and WCs and showers. Plus, there’s a TV and radio for when you need time to relax. Everything you need for a relaxing, no-fuss canal trip. All Classic Fleet were built between 2016 and 2021.
Signature Series
For a modern and stylish cruise, the Signature Series offers contemporary design and thoughtful features. Enjoy the extra kitchen space, fully equipped with all cooking utensils, including a microwave. There are blackout blinds and deep, comfy mattresses in all bedroom areas, and all the tech you need with USB ports and wireless charging. After a day on the water, you can watch the TV and unwind in comfort. All Signature Fleet were built between 2022 and 2024.
Royal Fleet (New for 2025)
Introducing the Royal Fleet, our latest range of narrowboats arriving in 2025. These top-of-the-line cruisers feature a double bed with a pull-out extension, expanding to a generous 5 feet by 6 feet 3 inches for maximum comfort. There’s an extended kitchen, fully equipped with a toaster and microwave, making meal prep a breeze and you’ll also appreciate the extra deck space, sleek interiors with a stylish feature wall, blackout blinds and deep mattresses for a great night’s sleep. You’ll also find wireless charging mats and a 52-inch flatscreen TV! The Royal Fleet takes your cruising experience to the next level. Our Royal Fleet, featuring the ‘Crown’ narrowboats, are all new for 2025.
Narrowboat Specifications
All our UK canals narrowboats have water-cooled engines, full central heating, showers, superior macerator toilets, cookers, fridges (with a small freezer unit), TV and radio plus smoke and CO alarms.
Each range has its own set of specifications but the different names indicate different layouts and the number of berths that each boat has. For example, the Princess 2 is a one-bedroom boat but it differs from the Duchess 2 in that the layout is different – the Princess 2 has a bedroom at the front of the boat, and the Duchess 2 has a bedroom at the rear of the boat. However, most of the internal specifications are the same.
Some one-bedroom boats have the option for the seating area in the lounge to be made up into a second bed. Please check the individual descriptions for further details when you hire canal boats from our collection.
Please note we do not offer WiFi on our fleet.
