We are delighted to announce that Black Prince Narrowboat Holidays has been awarded Best Self Catering Accommodation at the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2025!
This award recognises our commitment to constantly evolve our narrowboat build and development, offering our guests a stylish and unique way to explore the beautiful waterways of Cheshire and beyond.
Marketing Cheshire Awards
The awards, hosted by Marketing Cheshire, celebrate the very best of the region’s visitor economy, which contributes £3.9 billion and welcomes over 56 million visitor days each year.
The judging was tough! The Self Catering Accommodation award initially started with a five page justification process, which then lead to an interview with our Base Manager Danny in Cheshire, followed by a tour of one of our Black Prince boats at the base. The judge took a look round one of our new Signature boats and by all accounts, was super impressed by what she saw!
Winning entries also qualify for the National VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, which we are excited about – watch this space for further news!

The judges praised Black Prince for our high standards, excellent customer service, and dedication to creating memorable experiences for our holidaymakers. We take immense pride in offering top-quality narrowboats, carefully planned routes, and a clear and expert booking experience to ensure every guest enjoys the best waterways adventure here in the UK.
Thanks to our great boat building team
Our thanks go out to our wonderful team, whose dedication and passion make Black Prince Narrowboat Holidays such a fantastic experience for our guests. We have our own boat design and build team in house at our narrowboat hire base in Stoke Prior, plus we have our boatyard manager Danny Coleman who overseas operations at our hire base in Cheshire at Acton Bridge.
Plus we’d also like to extend a huge thank you to our customers – your support, kind reviews, and love for narrowboating inspire us every day.
